🔴 IELTS Speaking Part 3 Sample, Men and Women

1. What do you think are the most serious global problems today?
Personally, I believe climate change, poverty, and economic inequality are among the most critical challenges our world is facing. Although we’ve made progress in technology and healthcare, millions of people still struggle with basic needs like clean water and education. Meanwhile, the planet continues to warm, causing extreme weather, forest fires, and rising sea levels. If nations fail to take coordinated action, the consequences will affect not only the environment but also global stability and food security.

2. How can individuals contribute to solving environmental problems?
I think even small, consistent actions can add up over time. People can help by reducing plastic waste, recycling, using public transport, or switching to renewable energy when possible. If everyone took a bit of responsibility, we could significantly reduce our ecological footprint. Beyond that, individuals can influence their communities by sharing information, joining local environmental projects, or even voting for eco‑friendly policies. It’s about building a collective mindset that values sustainability over convenience.

3. Do you think water scarcity will become a major problem in the future?
Definitely. Many countries are already experiencing severe droughts and declining groundwater levels, especially in areas where rainfall has become unpredictable. As the population continues to grow and industries demand more water, the situation will likely worsen. The problem isn’t just about shortage, but also mismanagement and political conflict over shared rivers. If governments invested more in smart irrigation, desalination, and public awareness campaigns, we could slow down the crisis. Otherwise, water might become one of the reasons for future international disputes.

4. How does globalization affect poorer countries?
Globalization is a mixed blessing for developing nations. On the positive side, it creates access to international markets, advanced technologies, and foreign investment, which can stimulate growth and employment. However, it can also lead to economic dependency, unequal trade relationships, and loss of traditional industries. When multinational companies dominate a market, local businesses often struggle to compete. In my opinion, the solution lies in regulating foreign investments and investing in local education and innovation, so poorer countries can benefit from globalization without losing their independence.

5. What role should education play in tackling global problems?
Education, in my view, is the foundation of any long‑term solution. It not only builds knowledge but also shapes attitudes and social values. If students learn from an early age about topics like sustainability, gender equality, or global citizenship, they become more aware and responsible adults. Moreover, through education, societies can develop skilled professionals who can design and implement innovative solutions to challenges like pollution, poverty, and digital inequality. Essentially, the more we invest in education today, the fewer global crises we’ll face tomorrow.

6. Do you think international cooperation is improving or becoming weaker?
That’s a complex issue. On one hand, we’re seeing growing divisions because of political tensions, economic rivalries, and nationalism. Some countries prefer acting individually rather than working collectively. On the other hand, global crises such as pandemics, climate change, and migration have reminded us that no nation can handle these problems alone. Fortunately, there are still many examples of joint scientific projects and international alliances trying to keep cooperation alive. So I’d say it’s inconsistent — it’s improving in some areas, but weakening where political agendas take priority over shared human interests.
